I am a third year Ph.D. student in the Department of Earth Sciences at Dartmouth College. My research interests lie in understanding the anthropogenic and climatic controls on atmospheric metal deposition in southern Peru and Yukon Territory. I use natural archives of atmospheric deposition, such as lake sediments and snow/ice, to reconstruct metal deposition over the Holocene (~12,000 years ago to the present). Using novel analytical techniques and complementary climatic records, I aim to quantify the anthropogenic component of metal deposition and to assess the utility of metal deposition as a proxy for past atmospheric conditions. This work has brought me on two field seasons to Quelccaya Ice Cap in southeastern Peru, as well as one field season around southern Peru.
